Has your pain ever been so deep, you can feel your heart bleeding from the inside―like it’s literally dripping blood?

That is what it feels like to lose a child.

Or that you are gasping for air, but can’t quite seem to get that big gulp your lungs need to sustain you?

This is what child loss feels like.

You can’t remember the names of your friends, or what day of the week it is, because your mind now only holds space for the precious memories it protects. . .

Grieving a child is all-consuming.

When your heart is shattered into so many tiny pieces, you know it is only by God’s miraculous power that it is still held together―

This, too, is what it is to lose a child.

Some days, the numbness supersedes the pain, and our bodies walk around like robots―doing all the things that people are “supposed” to do.

We feel nothing―except the piercing silence that is the absence of our child.

Like restless feet that run, and run, and run, and run, but can never go far enough, and can never find “home”―no matter how long or the distance they tread. . .

Yesterday, today, tomorrow, and beyond―

Child loss is a hurt that keeps on hurting.

And NOTHING or NO ONE can EVER change that.
